The ASTA Arizona Solo Competition for violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, and harp is held annually in the fall for outstanding students who study privately with our members. Student performers are divided into junior or senior division, where they perform for a panel of judges. Three cash prize awards are given in each division, as well as the honor of performing in a recital for the ASTA AZ membership during the Arizona Music Educators Conference at the Mesa Marriot Convention Center in January. Please see the Calendar for details and article on this year’s winners in News.

Encouraging the next generation of string players is one of the missions of ASTA Arizona and the Solo Competition. We salute the talented students and their private teachers who make this competition so exciting.
